I saw a CD player for $15 with a digital out. I have one of these

that I plugged into a home theater system and filled up with DTS Music discs which are compressed audio in the same 5.1 format used for movie soundtracks, and if you play them on a home theater they play exactly like a movie soundtrack. Fragile by Yes, Machine Head by Deep Purple, and Maximum-Minimum by Kraftwerk are just a few of the albums that sound amazing with it.
