You can also grab a Merkur pretty cheap, which is one of the pretty standard DE's at this point. I like the Feather blades instead of the Astras but that's really all just preferences. http://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Long-Handled-Safety-Razor/dp/B0...
I would have to caution against a cheap safety razor handle. The gap between razor and the guards around it are very key. Once I switched from a cheap handle to a [$30 Merkur](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NL0T1G/ref=oh_aui_sear...) the experience was much improved. I still use the cheapest blades I can find at [$8/100 blades](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NL0T1G/ref=oh_aui_sear...)
This! Turns out, counter-intuitively, that you don't always want the "sharpest" (read: thinnest?) blade, especially if you have sensitive skin.
I've used a DE with these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077LAJT2, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014HJKZ2C, and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NL0T1G. Amazon tells me the last time I bought them was almost 2 years ago. I shave about every week and a half, with a new blade each time, and I'm just about 2/3 through this one $8 box.
It takes some getting used to, but I haven't nicked myself seriously in a year or two. Seriously worth trying it out if you haven't already.
