That's why at night I keep my keys in a metalic pouch that blocks all signals. I've tried and the car doesn't recognize the key even if I hold the pouch right next to the sensor, so it must be doing a good job. I'd highly recommend doing that if you have a keyless entry system installed in your car.

We now keep our keys in this bag[0] to (hopefully) prevent this. With the key in the bag I'm unable to unlock the car even with it right on the door.

Why spoof? Isn't aluminum foil sufficient to block microwaves? Or you can spend the big bucks on a faraday bag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HETGX00

We stored our keys in Faraday cage pouches[0] to (hopefully) prevent this attack. Of course when you're out and about, bringing a Faraday pouch with you is a bit cumbersome.
