Not parent, but I've been using GL-AR750S-Ext for 3+ years, and it's rock-solid. It has OpenVPN/Wireguard, powered by a simply USB, etc. It now travels with me everywhere I got.

It's some python on a GL-AR750S-Ext https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GBXMBQF/ so I can turn a knob and manipulate latency, jitter, packet loss etc. to traffic going through it. You can read knob state ( and write back LED state ) straight from /proc
